On December 23, 2018 at approximately 1:39am authorities in Carlisle say they initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Silverado for driving with no headlights. They identified the driver as Matthew Cloward.
Police say following roadside tests they determined Cloward to be under the influence of alcohol to a degree he was too impaired to safely drive, operate, or be in actual physical control of a motor vehicle. Cloward was transported to Cumberland County Prison.
Charges are pending at Magisterial District Judge Birbeck’s Office for Driving Under the Influence – Highest Rate, Driving Under the Influence – General Impairment, and a summary traffic violation. Bond information is not available at this time.
Cloward has no known criminal history in Pennsylvania.
