Harrisburg Police arrest man wanted for 2017 assault with miniature baseball bat, 2015 rape
On Monday, October 21, 2019 at approximately 12:40 a.m. the Swatara Police and Life Team EMS were dispatched to the Marriott Townhouse Suites at 450 Friendship Road for an unresponsive infant. Upon arrival the officers found eight month old James Pitts in cardiac and respiratory arrest at which time they immediately began providing emergency medical care. The infant was transported to the Harrisburg Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.
Officers and Detectives from the Swatara Township Police Department, the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office, the Dauphin County District Attorney’s office and Dauphin County Children and Youth Services began a joint investigation into this death.
As a result of their investigation police arrested 29 year old Luis Quinones. He has been charged with Criminal Homicide and Endangering the Welfare of Children.
Quinones is currently incarcerated in the State Correctional Facility in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania on probation and parole violations where he is awaiting arraignment on these charges. Police say their investigation determined that the infant died of multiple injuries that were caused by Quinones while the infant was in his care at the hotel.
The preliminary hearing date will be set following his arraignment.
